MULLENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The schedule of events for one of the most highly anticipated annual gatherings in the Wyoming County area, the 2023 Dogwood Festival has been announced.
Set to take place over a four-day period, this year’s take on the annual event will emphasize the City of Mullens and its storied heritage.
As always, the festival will feature plenty of vendors and activities for the entire family to enjoy, including races, tournaments, and carnival attractions from Gambill Amusement. The Mullens Fire Department will also be selling hotdogs beginning at 11:00am each day of the festival.
Festival favorites such as the Rubber Ducky Race and fireworks display will be making their return, along with an assortment of live entertainment for the enjoyment of guests in attendance with sound from Fallen Rock Entertainment.
Among the exciting entertainment acts announced are Buddy Allen & Cheat River, Whiskey & Wine, Mo’Town Review, and Morgan White.
Vendor setup will occur on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, along with the opening of the carnival, live music from the Gospel Singaleers, and Trivia Night with The Rusted Musket.
Thursday, April 27, 2023, will see the official festival kick-off with a stage dedication, carnival attractions, 92.7 THE MIX Idol competition, and live music on the main stage.
On Friday, April 28, 2023, the Tankersley Funeral Home Dogwood Memorial Tree Planting will occur at the main stage. Also featured will be live music and carnival attractions.
Saturday, April 29, 2023, will offer a host of events beginning at 10:00am with Sweets and Eats and the Kids Cake Championship at the Veterans Memorial Building. The Sarge McGhee Sidewalk Chalk Contest, Kids Bicycle Race, and Rubber Ducky Race are just a few of the exciting events in store for Saturday’s lineup, which, naturally will feature plenty of live entertainment.
Guests are also encouraged to support the festival through participation in the following:
Rubber Ducky Race: $3.00 each or two for $5.00
Half/Half $1.00 per ticket
Gun Raffle: $5.00 per ticket or three for $10
Kate Spade & other festival t-shirts: $15 each
Preceding the festival itself will be the Dogwood Festival Golf Tournament set to be held at Twin Falls on Sunday, April 23, 2023, beginning at 10:00am.
