GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Thursday, May 06, 2021, at approximately 7:19 am, Corporal B. J. McCormick, of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, was dispatched to a call on Blue Sulphur Road near Alderson.
Upon arrival Corporal McCormick was met by Chief J. R. Byers of the Alderson Police Department. Chief Byers had found an individual passed out in a vehicle on the roadway when he arrived. The individual was awakened. The officers located a glass jar near the driver that contained a bag of a crystal-like substance, white in color, that tested positive for methamphetamine.
The weight of the methamphetamine was 54 grams. Also located in the jar was a bag containing fifty (50) Alprazolam tablets. Additionally, a semi-automatic handgun and a set of digital scales were found in the vehicle.
Another jar was found that was sealed with black electrical tape. A search warrant was obtained for the jar, and upon execution of the search warrant, the jar was found to contain a bag of a crystal-like substance, white in color. That substance also tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 60 grams.
The occupant of the vehicle, identified as Joshua Caleb Honaker, age 27, of Lewisburg, was charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
Mr. Honaker was arraigned before a Greenbrier County magistrate and incarcerated in the Southern Regional Jail instead of a bond.
