CALHOUN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The 61st annual Calhoun County Wood Festival will soon get underway.
The Calhoun County Wood Festival will take place from Wednesday, May 31, to Saturday, June 3, along the streets of Grantsville in Calhoun County.
The annual festival will feature carnival rides from Myers Amusements, multiple food and craft vendors, along with musical performances each night.
The festival will officially kick off on Wednesday night at 6 PM with a baby pageant and karaoke at 7 PM. On Thursday, the official opening ceremonies begin at 7 PM followed by a performance from Breanna Megan at 7:30 PM.
On Friday, former contestant from The Voice, Cody Wickline, will perform at 5 PM followed by Jack & Davis Reid at 6:30 PM and Zona Hester at 8:30 PM.
Saturday is busy with many activities planned throughout the day. The final day of the festival starts off with an 8 AM pancake breakfast from the local Lion’s Club. A 5K and kids walk/run will begin at 8:30 AM.
The Grand Parade will start at 11:30 AM followed by a car show at noon and a corn hole tournament at 2 PM. A local talent show is also scheduled for 4:30 PM followed by performances from John & Johnny, Dangerfield, and Sounds of Summer.
The Grantsville Lion’s Club will be hosting bingo from May 29-June 3 next week.
Fireworks will close out the festival at 11 PM Saturday.
Some of the craft vendors setting up at the festival include Gerlach Rustic Wood Designs, Bowls by John, Barb’s Jewelry Box, Wild Child Herbals, MST’s Lotions and Potions, and more.
An array of food vendors will be set up as well, including Sister’s BBQ, Granny Mae’s Food Trailer, and C&S Concessions just to name a few.
