Gene was born In Rainelle on April 3, 1940, to George Ray and Gladys Harris Brown.
Gene was a graduate from Rainelle High School. He loved working on cars, especially fixing up older cars. He was an auto body mechanic for much of his life, working at Boley’s Center Chevrolet. He was also an avid outdoorsman. Gene was considered a friend to many.
Preceding Gene in death are his parents; his wife of 65 years Mary Lou Brown; one brother, Jacob Brown; one sister, Jackie Brown; and one grandson, Cody Ray Brown.
Survivors include his two sons, Joey Brown of Rainelle, and Steve Brown of Leivasy; four brothers: Jerry, John, and Jimmy Brown, all of Rainelle, and Sheldon Brown, of Hines; one sister, Jewel Smith, of Florida; one grandson, Dylan Brown, of Rainelle; a granddaughter, Natasha Dawn Brown, of Kentucky; three great-grandkids: Benjamin Tyler, Timothy, and Sunrize Brown; and his dog, Bear.
Gene’s wishes were to be cremated, and there will be no services.
