The West Virginia Supreme Court of appeals reached a decision Tuesday, ruling in favor of the WVSSAC, reaffirming its authority to enforce and implement its rules.
The WVSSAC released a statement, acknowledging the points system used throughout the regular season will be implemented.
The WVSSAC announced today that the high school football playoffs will proceed this week. The announcement comes after the Supreme Court of Appeals in West Virginia vacated injunctions issued by two circuit courts, reaffirming the WVSSAC’s authority to oversee and implement its rules for interscholastic athletics.
The point system that was used for the entirety of the regular season (prior to the injunctions) will be used to determine the playoff fields and matchups. Those fields and matchups will be announced shortly.
The playoff seeds attached below are unofficial but likely to be the ones used to determine playoff matchups. They come courtesy of WVtailgatecentral.com’s playoff projector.
