PINEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Raleigh County man has pleaded guilty to charges related to a breaking and entering incident at a Wyoming County coal facility.
Jared W. Harvey, 44, of Beaver, WV, admitted guilt on February 4, 2025, to one count of conspiracy to commit a felony and one count of attempting to commit a felony.

His sentencing is scheduled for March 2025.
The case stems from a May 25, 2024, incident at the Bluestone Coal K2 Coal Preparation Plant near Burke Mountain.
Sergeant Tyler Sizemore of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department responded to a breaking and entering complaint and discovered an attempted theft and extensive property damage.
Harvey was later found in a vehicle that had fled the scene and admitted his involvement.
Wyoming County Prosecutor Gregory Bishop emphasized the broader impact of commercial theft.
“The loss extends to financial impacts associated with salaries and production,” Bishop said.
Derek Laxton, Wyoming County Assistant Prosecutor, led the case before Wyoming County Circuit Judge Josh Miller.
Sergeants Sizemore and Matthew Lane of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department handled the investigation.
Bishop thanked Laxton, the prosecutor’s office staff, and the sheriff’s department for their dedicated work on the case.
