BARBOUR COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Barbour County woman is facing serious charges after crashing her vehicle and allegedly resisting arrest while under the influence near Pleasant Creek Shooting Range.
On July 24, 2025, Deputy A.D. Williams with the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash with entrapment on Pleasant Creek Road. At the scene, deputies found Jenny Lynn Haddix as the sole occupant of the wrecked vehicle.
According to the report, Haddix showed multiple signs of impairment, including slurred speech, unsteady movements, and glassy eyes. Although she claimed to have consumed alcohol after the crash, Deputy Williams observed physical indicators suggesting she was intoxicated at the time of the wreck.
Haddix refused EMS transport, declined to take a roadside breath test, and resisted arrest — requiring Deputy Williams to physically restrain her and place her in wrist restraints.
A search of her vehicle uncovered an open bottle containing a clear liquid consistent with alcohol and a container of pills, reinforcing suspicions of impaired driving.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for a blood draw, which was performed at Broaddus Hospital in Philippi. During her hospital visit, Haddix allegedly continued to act belligerently, shouting profanity and disturbing both hospital staff and patients.
Lab results showed her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.227 — nearly three times the legal limit. Due to injuries sustained in the crash, Haddix was transferred to Ruby Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
Haddix was cited for aggravated DUI, but reportedly refused to sign the citation and remained uncooperative with law enforcement and medical staff throughout the incident.
