(LOOTPRESS) – After more than two decades, McDonald’s is reopening the golden gates to McDonaldland, the beloved fantasy world once home to characters like Grimace, Birdie, and the Hamburglar.
Starting August 12, fans can relive the nostalgia with the launch of the McDonaldland Meal, a limited-time offering that includes a Quarter Pounder with Cheese or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, fries, and a mystery-flavored Mt. McDonaldland Shake — inspired by the fictional land’s volcano, blue lava, and pink clouds.
Each meal also comes packaged in a collectible McDonaldland tin, complete with stickers and postcards featuring fan-favorite characters from the original 1970s-era universe.
“There’s an entire magical world of McDonaldland filled with characters, places and lore,” said Jennifer “JJ” Healan, Vice President of Brand, Content, and Culture at McDonald’s USA. “We’re taking fans on a trip back — blending nostalgia with new experiences.”
To add to the hype, McDonald’s is also teaming up with Pacsun and Away to drop exclusive McDonaldland-themed merch, including sweat sets, luggage tags, and more — also available starting August 12.
Originally created in 1971, McDonaldland captivated generations through commercials, books, and Happy Meal toys before being retired. Its revival follows last year’s wildly successful Grimace Birthday Meal, which reignited fans’ love for the franchise’s classic characters.
McDonald’s also announced that starting September 2, more than 500 U.S. restaurants will begin serving new cold brews and refreshers, giving fans even more reason to visit this summer.
Ready to revisit McDonaldland? The adventure begins soon — and this time, it comes with fries.
