Fayette County Schools says an adult is defined as someone 19 years of age or older.
Students will be given wristbands to show that they are with an adult.
While students may sit with friends and go to the restroom or concession stands without an adult, they will not be allowed to play ball or gather in unsupervised areas during games.
School officials said the policy is intended to improve supervision and safety at athletic events.
