KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – In the season opener, the Class AAA Greenbrier East Spartans traveled to face the Class AAAA Riverside Warriors and came away with a 39-27 victory.
The win gives Greenbrier East a 1-0 start to the season, and they will hit the road next Friday to take on their rivals, the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles.

Riverside drops to 0-1 and faces a tough challenge next week as they travel to Oak Hill to play the Red Devils, who also picked up a home win Friday against the Nicholas County Grizzlies.
