WEST MILFORD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – As Randolph County endures an “Extreme Drought,” residents in the Town of West Milford and surrounding communities are facing worsening water shortages, with many wells and cisterns running dry.
Town officials said the crisis has left families and farms without even the most basic water needs.

“Our town is in dire need of water but our friends and neighbors in the outskirts of town that have wells or cisterns are really hurting,” the Town of West Milford said in a statement.
“They have no water source from their wells going dry. They can not water their livestock, water their pets, do laundry, take a bath or shower or even get a drink of water! We gripe and complain because we have to boil our water to drink but imagine living without any water source. How can we help them?”
In response, the Randolph County Office of Emergency Management has set up a water buffalo for residents in one of the hardest-hit areas.
“Folks in the Adolph area, we have set up a water buffalo at the entrance of the WesVaco property, just past the Fox residence on Adolph Rd. This is filled with city water, however, as precaution, it will need boiled before consumption,” the agency announced.
The prolonged drought has placed heavy strain on both town water systems and private well users, leaving officials urging residents to conserve water and assist neighbors in need wherever possible.
