OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Oak Hill man is facing multiple felony charges following a violent domestic assault that sent a pregnant woman to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to the Oak Hill Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2026, to a domestic incident connected to Pine Knoll Apartments in Oak Hill. Police were alerted after staff at Raleigh General Hospital contacted Fayette County 911 about a patient being treated in the emergency room for severe injuries linked to an assault.
The victim arrived at the hospital with a friend suffering from a stab wound, extensive bruising to her face and body, multiple bite marks on her legs, and other injuries. Hospital staff also reported that she was pregnant at the time of the attack.
An Oak Hill police officer responded to the hospital and observed injuries consistent with an extended assault, including deep bruising on her arms, legs, and back, a cut beneath her arm where she reported being struck with a knife, a stitched stab wound to her thigh, a busted lip, and bite marks on her lower leg and thigh.
The victim told police that her boyfriend, Antwjuan Menuel Pagan, attacked her earlier that evening at her Pine Knoll apartment after becoming intoxicated and enraged over a video game. She stated that Pagan beat her, stabbed and cut her with a knife, bit her multiple times, and struck her with a metal towel holder he ripped from the wall.
After the assault, the victim said she was taken to Pagan’s mother’s residence on Crestview Drive, where she managed to escape and contact a relative for help. She was transported to Raleigh General Hospital around 7 p.m.
The victim also told officers she was approximately 16 weeks pregnant and said the abuse was not an isolated incident. She and a friend reported a history of domestic violence, including prior protective orders and previous arrests involving Pagan.
Early Sunday morning, January 17, police served arrest warrants on Pagan at a Crestview Drive residence. He was charged with domestic battery and malicious assault. While being processed, Pagan allegedly refused to provide identifying information, leading to an additional charge of obstructing an officer.
Pagan was later transported to Southern Regional Jail under a 15,000 dollar bond.
