CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Dr. Michael Antolini officially filed to run for State Senate District 9, which includes Raleigh and Wyoming counties and part of Fayette County. Antolini was joined by members of the State Senate as he filed his candidacy.
Antolini said his decision to run is driven by a desire to represent residents who are committed to staying and investing in Southern West Virginia.
“We need a voice for people who choose to stay here and build a future—young professionals, parents, small business owners, and families who believe in what our region can become,” Antolini said. “As a small business owner in tourism, I want to create jobs, strengthen our economy, and make life more affordable. As a physician, I care about the overall health of our communities. And as a parent, I want to help shape a region where our children have real opportunities to build lasting legacies.”
Antolini currently serves as president of the West Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association and is a leader in graduate medical education. He has spent more than a decade providing front-line patient care, advocating for improved access to healthcare in Southern West Virginia, and teaching future physicians.
He also serves as medical director for several award-winning skilled nursing facilities and practices as a physician at a federally qualified health center in Fayetteville, where he treats families, seniors, and underserved populations.
In addition to his medical work, Antolini is a co-owner of a hospitality business in Fayette County, managing a portfolio of rental cabins that draw visitors from across the country and support the local tourism economy.
A lifelong West Virginian and Raleigh County resident, Antolini and his wife, Anna, are raising their four young children in the region he hopes to represent.
