CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A-Game Wellness will officially open this week on Bridge Road, introducing a new clinic focused on recovery, performance, and preventative wellness in Charleston.
The facility is built on more than 13 years of experience in physical therapy and strength conditioning and is supported by a multidisciplinary team with deep backgrounds in clinical care, athletic performance, and emergency medicine. Founder Derek Raynes, MS, ATC, PES, brings more than two decades of experience in sports medicine and performance enhancement. The team also includes Medical Director and Nurse Practitioner Erin Listermann, MSN, APRN, NP-BC; performance specialist Taryn Conklin, ISSA-CPT, with experience in paramedicine and elite athletics; and Dr. Christen Raynes, DDS, MBA, who brings a whole-body approach to health and wellness.
“We wanted to create a place where people can take a more complete, informed approach to their health,” said Derek Raynes. “Over the years, I’ve seen how often care becomes reactive instead of proactive. The body functions as an interconnected system, and when you approach it that way, you can improve performance, recovery, and long-term health outcomes. At A-Game, we’re focused on helping people understand their bodies better and giving them the tools to stay ahead of issues, not just respond to them.”
A-Game Wellness brings integrated, medically guided care to the Charleston market, combining clinical oversight with advanced, non-invasive technologies to support muscle development, metabolic function, recovery, and cognitive performance. Each program starts with consultation and evaluation, using lab work and health data to build personalized treatment plans focused on measurable results.
Services at A-Game Wellness are organized across three core areas: medical and optimization services, performance and training, and recovery and longevity. Examples of those services are:
- Medical and Optimization Services
- Medically guided peptide therapy
- IV hydration therapy
- Targeted vitamin injections
- ExoMind brain stimulation (TMS) for focus and stress management
- Pelvic health therapy
- Performance and Training
- Tonal smart gym strength training with performance tracking
- Functional Movement Screening (FMS)
- Customized four-week exercise performance programming
- Graston Technique® soft tissue therapy
- Recovery and Longevity
- Infrared sauna and red light therapy
- Cold plunge therapy
- Contrast therapy (heat and cold exposure)
- Body composition treatments, including Emsculpt NEO
“No two people are the same, so their care shouldn’t be either,” said Raynes. “We focus on the individual and build programs that actually fit their body and their goals, not a generic plan. With the BTL technologies we have here like Emsculpt NEO and ExoMind, we’re able to target specific areas of the body and mind in a very precise way. That allows us to combine those tools with strength training, recovery, and medical oversight to create a plan that’s truly tailored to each person and how they want to feel and perform.”
The opening comes as demand continues to grow for preventative and performance-based care, bringing new options to the Charleston area for individuals focused on improving how they feel, function, and recover.
“Stress is one of the most significant contributors to long-term health issues, so the timing of opening during Stress Awareness Month is meaningful,” said Raynes. “Our approach looks at how stress presents in the body and uses a combination of therapies to help regulate, recover, and build resilience against those external demands. We encourage people to join us for our grand opening to learn more about what we’re doing and how these services can support their overall health.”
A-Game Wellness’ grand opening will take place Thursday, April 9 at 10:00 a.m. at its location on 1012 1/2 Bridge Road in Charleston. Live demonstrations of the ExoMind and Emsculpt technologies will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend to tour the facility and learn more about available services.
