HEDGESVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Four people were injured Tuesday night in a single-vehicle crash in Berkeley County, according to the West Virginia State Police.
Troopers J.D. Darrah, Spessert, and Mason responded to the crash around 8 p.m. on April 14 in the 3400 block of Back Creek Valley Road.
While en route, troopers were informed that three occupants were trapped inside the vehicle and another had been ejected.
Upon arrival, officers located a white Buick Verano that had gone over an embankment and came to rest in standing water off the roadway.
The driver was identified as a 17-year-old male from Martinsburg. The passengers were identified as Gracie Estes, 19, of Hedgesville; Nicolas Dillard, 18, of Hedgesville; and Logan Darlington, 20, of Martinsburg.
Darlington was transported to Berkeley Medical Center for treatment. The other three occupants were airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities said alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor. The investigation remains ongoing.
