RAVENSWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Ravenswood woman has been charged following an investigation into alleged credit card fraud involving a city employee, according to the West Virginia State Police.
Corporal E. C. Greathouse began investigating the case on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, after receiving a report of credit card fraud by an employee for the City of Ravenswood.
During the investigation, authorities allege that Kimberly Benson, 58, of Ravenswood, made multiple purchases of personal items using a city-issued credit card. Troopers said the total amount of the purchases was approximately $1,600.
Benson was arrested on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, and charged with one count of credit card fraud and 19 counts of computer fraud.
She was arraigned in Jackson County Magistrate Court and later released after posting a $25,000 bond.
