MONONGALIA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A four-vehicle crash on Interstate 68 in Monongalia County sent two people to the hospital Wednesday morning, according to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the crash on I-68 westbound near mile marker 10 at the Cheat Lake Bridge on May 6, 2026.
Authorities said the accident began when a Jeep lost control and struck the median, causing traffic to slow suddenly. A dump truck then collided with two of the slowing vehicles, resulting in a four-vehicle crash.
Two individuals were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Emergency crews from Mon EMS, Brookhaven Fire Department and the West Virginia Department of Transportationassisted at the scene.
Officials said I-68 in the area of the crash has since reopened. No additional information was immediately available.
