BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Residents will have an opportunity to learn about and provide feedback on proposed transportation improvements during a public informational workshop scheduled for July 2 in Bluefield.
The City of Bluefield, in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration and the West Virginia Division of Highways, is seeking public input on its Safe Streets and Roads for All project.
The project includes plans to convert four key intersections into roundabouts and make safety improvements along three transportation corridors in the city.
The workshop will be held Thursday, July 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bluefield Arts Center, located at 500 Bland Street.
According to the notice, no formal presentation will be made. Instead, attendees will be able to review project information, ask questions and submit written comments throughout the event.
Project representatives from the Division of Highways and CTL Engineering will be available to discuss the proposed improvements and answer questions from the public.
The meeting is being conducted in accordance with public involvement requirements under the National Environmental Policy Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act.
Handouts detailing the project will be available during the workshop and on project websites. Officials encourage residents to attend and share their input on the proposed roadway safety enhancements.
