MOUNT HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Mount Hope Fire Department is expanding its emergency response capabilities with the addition of a new fire engine designed to handle difficult terrain and hard-to-reach locations.
The department recently announced the purchase of its new Engine 54, a compact four-wheel-drive apparatus that will be used to respond to emergencies on narrow roads, in wooded areas, across rough terrain and in other remote locations.
According to the department, the new engine’s size and off-road capability will allow firefighters to reach incidents more quickly while expanding the department’s ability to serve the community.
The department also thanked Matheny Fire & Emergency and salesman Mark Reyburn for their assistance throughout the purchase process.
Residents will have an opportunity to see the new Engine 54 in person during the West Virginia Fire Expo, which runs June 19-21 at the Summersville Armory. The event is open to the public.
