FLAT TOP, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The annual Lilly Family Reunion will return to Flat Top this weekend, with three days of music, food, fellowship, family activities and entertainment beginning Friday, July 17.
The reunion, held at Lilly Reunion Park at 314 Ellison Ridge Road, Flat Top, has become one of West Virginia’s most well-known family gatherings, drawing Lilly descendants and visitors from across the country while celebrating the family’s Appalachian heritage.
This year’s festivities begin Friday with a family dinner from 5 to 7 p.m., featuring a choice of chicken or ham with all the fixings. Meals are $10, with a reduced price available for children.
Friday evening entertainment will include the Jacob Riley Band at 6 p.m., followed by Cuz Night at 7 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule begins with opening remarks and prayer at 10:15 a.m., followed by a flag-raising ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
Live music throughout the day will feature Strings of Green from 11 a.m. to noon, Williamson Branchfrom 1 to 2 p.m. and again from 5 to 6 p.m., and Cheat River from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. An awards ceremony is scheduled from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
A car show will also be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., showcasing classic vehicles.
Saturday evening will conclude with a performance by Matt Jones beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by a sock hop.
Sunday’s activities will begin with opening remarks and prayer at 10:15 a.m., followed by a flag-raising ceremony at 10:30 a.m. A church service featuring music by Rick Lilly will follow, with the Next Generation Gospel Band performing afterward. Closing remarks are scheduled for 2 p.m.
Originally established in 1929, the Lilly Family Reunion is recognized as one of the largest family reunions in the United States. The event celebrates the history and legacy of the Lilly family while welcoming visitors to enjoy a weekend of music, fellowship and community.
Organizers invite both Lilly family members and the public to attend the annual tradition.
