FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Ohio man was arrested Sunday after allegedly fleeing from law enforcement and leading officers on a pursuit through Fayette County.
The incident began around noon in the Glen Jean area, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies said they made contact with a driver who showed signs of impairment.
The driver allegedly fled the scene, leading Fayette County deputies and officers with the Oak Hill Police Department on a pursuit through Oak Hill.
Deputies identified the driver as 31-year-old Samuel David England, of Clayton, Ohio. The pursuit eventually ended when England was stopped and taken into custody.
A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered suspected cocaine, suspected ecstasy, marijuana and more than $8,000, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said England was also given a sobriety test, with a preliminary breath sample registering a blood alcohol concentration of .09.
England was charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute and fleeing in a vehicle while intoxicated.
He is being held at Southern Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond.
