OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Shoney’s in Oak Hill will officially close its doors Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, according to restaurant staff.
The closure comes just over a year after the restaurant reopened following a lengthy shutdown.
The Oak Hill Shoney’s, located at 242 Mall Road, reopened on July 24, 2025, after being closed for nearly five years. The restaurant initially reopened with buffet-only service due to staffing limitations, with plans to later resume its full menu.
The location had previously closed for renovations, but the shutdown ultimately lasted several years as anticipated reopening dates were delayed.
Restaurant staff confirmed that Sunday will be the location’s final day of operation.
The closure marks the end of the restaurant’s latest run in Oak Hill approximately 13 months after its reopening.
