PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Mercer County Commission is accepting resumes for the position of Mercer County Clerk to fill the remainder of the current clerk’s term.
According to a public notice from Commission President Bill Archer, the successful candidate will serve as the county’s fiscal officer, recorder of legal instruments and chief election authority.
The person selected will fill the unexpired term of the current county clerk, which runs through Dec. 31, 2028.
A college degree is preferred, and applicants will be required to undergo a background check and drug screening.
Applicants must have been a registered Republican for at least one year prior to September 2026 and must be willing to run for the office in the May 2028 primary election.
Resumes will be accepted at the Mercer County Commission office on the second floor of the Mercer County Courthouse until 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25.
