MAN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Logan County Schools says there is no active threat at Man Middle School after officials became aware of a potential threat involving the school.
According to the school district, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating the situation. Authorities have identified and contacted the parties believed to be responsible.
School officials said they are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
As an additional precaution, Logan County Schools will add another Prevention Resource Officer at Man Middle School, bringing the total to two for the week. The officers will patrol classrooms and school grounds and be stationed at entrances during the mornings.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Department will also conduct sweeps of the building as a precaution.
Logan County Schools said law enforcement and the Logan County Board of Education will continue taking necessary safety measures to protect students and staff.
“The safety of our students and employees remains our highest priority. We appreciate the swift response of law enforcement and the cooperation of our students, families, staff, and community as this matter continues to be addressed,” the district said.
