CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) today announced that the 2027 West Virginia Wildlife Calendar is now available to purchase online and at select retail locations across the state.
The award-winning calendar is a celebration of West Virginia’s rich natural heritage and a practical planning tool for hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts. Each calendar features original, hand-painted artwork of native wildlife, key hunting and fishing dates, moon phases and educational articles that highlight the people and programs behind West Virginia’s conservation success stories.
“The Wildlife Calendar is not only a showcase for West Virginia’s natural beauty but also a valuable tool for anyone who hunts, fishes or just enjoys the outdoors,” said WVDNR Director Brett McMillion. “In addition, buying the calendar directly supports the agency’s conservation work to protect and conserve West Virginia’s natural resources.”
The 2027 calendar includes paintings of the following species:
- January: Red Fox by Ed Frantz
- February: A Fisher in a Log by Barbie Hillenbrand
- March: Foggy Morning Breakdown by Timothy Gump
- April: Glorious West Virginia Spring by Lauri Waterfield Callison
- May: Black Bears by Misty Murray-Walkup
- June: Concert in the Clearing by Matt Tomko
- July: Brown Bats at Hosaflook Cave by Roger Marsh
- August: Opossum Family with PawPaws by Dinah McCloud
- September: Resting Ravens by David Kiehm
- October: Copperhead by Misty Murray-Walkup
- November: Crappie by Ed Frantz
- December: Flying Squirrels by Dinah McCloud
Calendars are $15 each and usually sell out before Christmas, so those who want a copy are encouraged to buy one soon. The easiest way to purchase a calendar is to order online at WVstateparks.com, clicking “Merchandise” and following the onscreen prompts.
