FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Thousands of Appalachian Power customers are without electricity across portions of Fayette, Nicholas and Kanawha counties Sunday morning.
According to Appalachian Power, 324 customers were without power in Fayette County, while 2,085 customers were without service in Nicholas County.
Another 1,120 customers were without power in an area along the Fayette-Kanawha county line between Crown Hill and Montgomery.
The largest concentration of outages in the Fayette and Nicholas county area was reported around Russellville, Nallen, Mount Lookout and Mount Nebo.
Appalachian Power estimates service will be restored by 6 p.m. Sunday in all of the affected areas mentioned.
The causes of the outages had not been released as of Sunday morning. Rain showers have been moving through the region throughout the morning.
