HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A man was taken into custody after witnesses reported that he yelled in his girlfriend’s face and pinned her against a wall during an argument at their Hinton home on October 2, according to a criminal complaint.
Two witnesses, including the woman’s juvenile child, told a trooper that the man repeatedly called her cellphone before the couple began arguing over the phone. Witnesses said he then circled her location in his vehicle for an extended period before confronting her at their residence on Summers Street.
An adult witness told police she took the woman’s children to a nearby home during the incident. The juvenile reported seeing the man pin the woman against a wall while yelling at her, according to the complaint.
The woman denied that the reported events occurred. The trooper nevertheless took the man into custody based on the witness statements.
After being advised of his Miranda rights, the man acknowledged that the couple had argued but denied any physical contact that night. According to the complaint, he also admitted to battering the woman during a separate argument within the previous six months.
