GRIFFITHSVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Lincoln County woman is charged with neglect of an incapacitated adult after allegedly leaving her husband, who uses a wheelchair and could not verbally communicate, home alone.
According to a criminal complaint, an officer accompanied Adult Protective Services investigators to a residence on Straight Fork Road in Griffithsville on July 17, 2026, to investigate suspected adult neglect.
The officer reported that the man opened the door while in a wheelchair and appeared unable to hold a verbal conversation. His wife, Leslie Jordan, was identified as his caretaker.
Adult Protective Services personnel told the officer that Jordan was in Hamlin meeting with her parole or probation officer. They also reported that she had left her husband unattended on at least two previous occasions.
According to the complaint, Jordan returned while investigators were at the residence and confirmed she had left her husband home alone while she was in Hamlin.
Jordan is charged with neglect of an incapacitated adult. The charge is an allegation, and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
