LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A husband is facing charges after his wife took his phone.
According to the Lewisburg Police Department, a domestic dispute call occurred at the Lewis Terrace Apartments. The victim advised that she and her husband were arguing when John Ward II became physical. The victim said she had Mr. Ward’s phone, and he became angry. Mr. Ward allegedly wrapped his right arm around her neck and threw her onto the bed face down. Ward landed on the victim’s back with his arm still around her neck, to the point she couldn’t breathe. She tried to scream but couldn’t because he started choking her violently.
The victim stated that Mr. Ward finally stopped, and she got away to call 911. When the police asked Mr. Ward what had happened, he said nothing and that the police needed to leave. Officers said Ward appeared intoxicated, and they could smell alcohol.
Ward was arrested for domestic battery and strangulation. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 15,500 dollar bond.
