UPDATE: BOLT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two injured and one dead in Raleigh County after a tree fell on them.
Officials say that on Friday, April 28, 2023, EMS responded to 128 Fairview School Road in Bolt at around 4:17 pm after a tree fell on three workers with AEP.
One worker was fatally injured, one was critically wounded, and a third suffered non-life threatening.
A spokesperson with Appalachian Power told Lootpress, “An Appalachian Power employee was fatally injured Friday evening while assisting with service restoration in Bolt, West Virginia.
An investigation is underway.
Out of respect for family and coworkers, no further details are available at this time.”
The road has been closed for 36 hours and is still closed as of Saturday evening. Workers have been cutting up the tree all day and trying to clear debris.
