OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man has reportedly succumbed to traumatic injuries relating to a garbage truck incident in Oceana on Wednesday morning.
The Oceana Fire Department reports that on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at approximately 11:44am, the Oceana Fire Department was dispatched to a traumatic injury in the parking lot of Tomblin Hardware – the former location of Ellis Lumber – in Oceana.
A local garbage company employee was fatally struck by a dumpster while dumping its contents into a garbage truck.
This incident reportedly remains under investigation by multiple agencies including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). No additional information is expected to be released at this time as the investigation is conducted.
