FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Anthony Ciliberti, Jr., Prosecuting Attorney for Fayette County, has announced his intention to seek re-election in the upcoming 2024 election.
“After taking office on December 1, 2020, and having served the citizens of Fayette
County for over three years, I am looking forward to continuing the accomplishments that our office has achieved,” says Ciliberti.
“During my tenure as Prosecuting Attorney for Fayette County my staff and I have accomplished the following:
-Multiple successful murder prosecutions;
-Numerous successful prosecutions of child sex offenders, including a former
Fayette County teacher who preyed upon his former students;
-Considerable number of successful drug prosecutions, including the prosecution
of members of a significant drug trafficking organization that were distributing large quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine in Fayette County;
-Adoption and implementation of a zero-tolerance policy regarding domestic
violence cases;
-Protection of hundreds of Fayette County children through abuse and neglect
proceedings;
-Significant reduction in the backlog of pending felony cases;
-Significant reduction in the jail bill without jeopardizing public safety; and,
-Establishment of an excellent working relationship with the local law
enforcement community.
I hope to build upon the successes my staff and I have achieved over the past three years and I look forward to continuing to serve as your Prosecuting Attorney.”
