The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Dutch Miller and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for a third year.
Below are the candidates for the fourth week of the boys basketball season. Voting will close Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here

- Ryan Cole, James Monroe – Cole averaged 24.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game for the Mavericks who swept Liberty and Webster in the New River CTC Invitational.
- MJ Patton, Mercer Christian – Patton averaged 18 points per game for the 1-1 Cavaliers this week.
- Austin Bishop, Westside – Bishop scored 45 points across two games including 26 in a win against Summers County.
- Ammar Maxwell, Shady Spring – Maxwell averaged 19 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Tigers.
- Justin Cooper, Midland Trail – Cooper scored 20 in a win over Greater Beckley.
- Braxton Morgan, Wyoming East – Morgan scored 13 points, all of which came in the fourth quarter of a win against Class AAAA Princeton.
- Trey Stump, Nicholas County – Stump netted 33 for the Grizzlies in a win this week.
- Braydon McClung, Greenbrier West – McClung poured in 31 points in a comeback win over Independence.
- Brody Hamric, Greenbrier East – Hamric scored 37 points across two games to help lead East to a 2-0 mark at the New River CTC Invitational.
- Aaron Hall, Greater Beckley – Hall netted 19 for the Crusaders in a win at Mount View.
- Nik Fleming, Princeton – Fleming poured in 29 points for the Tigers in a win at PikeView.
