Alvin was retired from Grant’s Supermarket in Princeton. He attended Ashworth Baptist Church in Princeton. Alvin enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and riding in the country with his daughters. He liked to watch westerns on television. He was a very good man with a very kind soul.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Kathy Smith McKinney.
Survivors include daughters, Chantell McKinney and Jessica Haynes both of Princeton and Caitlan McKinney of Lashmeet; sister, Teresa Felger and husband Paul of Princeton; brother, Jamie McKinney of Connecticut; and grandchildren, Noah Wright, Ian Wright and Brantley Haynes all of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Myron Tilley officiating. Interment will follow at the John Riley Shrewsbury Cemetery on Arista Mountain.
