CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The eastbound Amtrak 50 Cardinal which serves eight locations in West Virginia, has been canceled for Friday.
Citing ongoing equipment issues, Amtrak canceled the eastbound 50 Cardinal train from Chicago to New York which was scheduled to depart Chicago on Thursday and arrive in West Virginia Friday morning.
Amtrak has not specified as to what exactly the ‘equipment issues’ involve. The 51 westbound Cardinal from New York to Chicago was also canceled on Wednesday due to its own equipment issues.
For those who may be affected by the cancellation and need traveling assistance, Amtrak asks that individuals please call or text 1-800-USA-RAIL.
The Amtrak Cardinal makes stops in Huntington, Charleston, Montgomery, Thurmond, Prince, Hinton, Alderson, and White Sulphur Springs in West Virginia twice a day on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
