CABIN CREEK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after getting into a physical altercation with a woman and allowing his two pit bulls to attack her.
On Saturday, September 2, 2023, deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to investigate a female being attacked by dogs during an altercation with a male.
The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. at Hide-a-way Court Trailer Park in Cabin Creek.
Deputy T.S. Dubiel arrived on the scene to find a 24-year-old female victim being treated by Kanawha County Medics for multiple dog bites to her body as well as bruising and injuries from a physical altercation.
Deputy Dubiel learned the victim had a disagreement with Mr. Zachary Atkinson that resulted in him following her to Hide-a-way Court with his two pit bulls. Mr. Atkinson, 20-years-old of Cabin Creek, allegedly got into a physical fight with the victim, where she fell to the ground.
After making physical contact with the victim, Mr. Atkinson is accused of encouraging and allowing his two dogs to attack the victim, which resulted in brutal injuries.
While the dogs attacked the victim, Mr. Atkinson continued to assault her. The victim was transported to CAMC General Hospital for further treatment.
Deputy Dubiel was able to obtain video footage from the area that captured the incident. The graphic video shows the victim helpless as she is mauled by the two dogs and beaten by Mr. Atkinson.
Deputy Dubiel located Mr. Atkinson and he was placed under arrest for one felony count of malicious assault. He is currently being held on a $5,000.00 or 10% cash bond at South Central Regional Jail.
