Arthur F. Smith, 79, of Princeton, died Monday, July 19, 2021, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born June 2, 1942, at Jumping Branch, he was the son of the late Oliver Smith and Della Bowen Smith. Arthur was an electrician his entire life, having worked for Millsap Electric and retiring from G. J. Hopkins & Company in Roanoke VA. He loved his family, hunting and working on old cars and trucks. Arthur genuinely enjoyed displaying his old cars on Mercer Street during the cruising night. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Corder Smith, a daughter Elizabeth Thompson and five siblings, Anna Belle Kirby and Carl, Noah, Bobby and George Smith. Those left to cherish his memory, are two children, Judy Polk and Jeff Smith and wife Sandra; Ten grandchildren; Eight great-grandchildren; One brother, Lewis Smith; Special nephew, Paul Smith and his wife Connie; Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 23, 2021, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Danny Gunnoe officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
