(LOOTPRESS) – Attorney General Patrick Morrisey releases a statement on Thanksgiving.
“Dear Friend,
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
We live in very bizarre times, filled with many challenges. Many may not even be traveling home this year to celebrate the holidays due to Covid-19.
Yet through it all, we still have much to be thankful for.
Today, we are thankful for our family, our friends, our country and our way of life.
We are thankful that we still live in a free society. Yes, some are trying to eliminate our freedoms and advance socialism, but we still live in one of the freest countries on the face of the earth.
We are also thankful to God, our creator and for all the bounties he has bestowed upon us.
Last year, on Thanksgiving evening, I slept on the floor next to my Mom in her hospital bed, trying to provide some small comfort to her as she struggled to survive.
It was a tough evening but I am thankful today that I was with my Mom on her last Thanksgiving alive.
While the world may get crazy, I like to think about the little things that really do matter in life.
The warm embrace of a loved one, the memories of time together with family and friends, the ability to help people who are less fortunate than ourselves.
Today, we give thanks to all of the wonderful things we experience in this world. We give thanks to all of the little things that matter.
Wherever you are, and whoever you are with, I hope you take the time to create a special Thanksgiving memory this year. I will be thinking about you and will also be thanking you for letting me serve you as your Attorney General.
Hope to speak with each and every one of you in the weeks and months ahead.
Thanks for all that you do and enjoy a blessed Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Patrick”
