HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities are seeking information on a man who lured two children into his vehicle on Wednesday.
As indicated by reports from the Huntington Police Department, an as of yet unidentified man approached two children – a boy, 9, and a girl, 12 – in a dark colored Subaru Forester with a rear, passenger-side
donut tire at approximately 5 p.m. on Wednesday at 7th Street West and 5th Avenue West.
The driver, a heavy-set, clean-shaven, bald white man in his 30s or 40s with a skull tattoo on his upper right arm, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The man, a stranger to the children, lured the children into his vehicle by offering them $20 to babysit a child.
Once in the vehicle, the children were taken to an area near 19th Street and 10th Avenue. It was here the driver stopped the vehicle and requested that the boy exit to inspect a tire.
When the boy exited the vehicle, the man drove off with the girl still inside. The girl was ignored when she demanded to be allowed to leave the vehicle, but did manage to escape a few blocks away through a passenger door.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and those who see the vehicle or have any pertinent information are encouraged to contact the Huntington Police Department’s Detectives Bureau at (304) 696-4420.
