BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – During Tuesday’s virtual meeting the Beckley Common Council voted to fill the Board of Zoning Appeals vacancy left by Brad Wartella.
According to Mayor Rob Rappold, Wartella had to step down from the board following a recent move.
The council voted and agreed for Noah Kapp, Vice President of Compliance LLC, to fill the vacancy.
“Kapp has been involved in a number of worthwhile activities within the community,” Rappold said.
Lootpress reached out to Kapp, who shared his excitement for this new endeavor.
“I was very honored to have been asked to fill this position,” he began. “I have always wanted to get involved in some capacity to work with the city and improve the community, but I wasn’t sure exactly what role I saw myself taking…when asked, I immediately jumped at the opportunity.”
As part of the Board of Zoning Appeals, Kapp will hear appeals of decisions rendered by zoning officials and help interpret ambiguities in the zoning ordinance to then present his opinion to the council.
Kapp says he has no agenda at this point other than to “help guide decisions that make Beckley a better place to live and work.”
