BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – On Monday, May 3, employees from the Beckley Lowe’s donated five shopping carts full of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Beckley Police Department.
Ryan Cooper, store manager for the Beckley Lowe’s, stated that the donation consisted mostly of masks, hand sanitizer and gloves.
According to Cooper, in order to provide assistance during the pandemic, Lowe’s Corporate shipped large quantities of PPE to individual stores, which were then able to distribute them to local businesses, schools, law enforcement offices, etc.
“We always like to be a part of the community,” Cooper said. “That is something Lowe’s always does. We are always trying to help the community and give back.”
Deputy Chief Dean Bailey with the Beckley Police Department expressed his gratitude for the donation.
“It means a lot to us. It will better help protect our officers by providing them hand sanitizers and masks while they are out on patrol. We just want to say that we greatly appreciate Lowe’s for making the donation and helping us out with that.”
