Family was important to Betty and always her first priority. She enjoyed every minute with her
children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She left a legacy we can only hope to uphold,
as she created a home filled with love and comfort for her family and friends. She was devoted
to her grandchildren especially and the best “Mamaw” in the world. Betty loved to feed her
families both at home and church. She was well known for her homemade chicken and
dumplings, corn bread, and specialty cakes among other things. She particularly treasured her
time in Tennessee at her camper surrounded by family and friends. She had a beautiful smile
and amazing personality. Just being around Betty made you feel special. She looked forward to
Sundays to fellowship with her church family. Betty was grounded in her faith and was a devoted member of the Maryette United Baptist Church for 62 years, at which she was also Mother of the Year in 1990. She worked at Jack’s Pharmacy until retiring to help care for grandchildren. She had many hobbies which included sewing, making afghans, and macrame purses.
