Bobby Jack Legg, 87, of Beckley, WV, passed away peacefully, in the faith, to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on October 21st, 2021, at Bowers Hospice House after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born August 19, 1934, to Lucian M. and Agnes H. Legg in Edmond, WV, and was the youngest of 11 children. Bobby was a retired pastor and coal miner. He served as Pastor of Grace Baptist Church from 1982 until 1995. Bobby considered preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to be the most significant service of his life. He was also a retired mine superintendent for Ford Coal Company. Bobby was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed piloting airplanes, riding motorcycles and working on cars. He was an instrument rated pilot and had a great passion for flying airplanes. Bobby married his high school sweetheart Polly Jo Wiseman Legg on November 13, 1953, and they enjoyed a wonderful life together for 68 years .He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Michelle, brothers Russell, Fred, Bill, Phillip, David, and sisters Lillian, Nannie, Garnette, and Isabell. Bobby’s memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife Polly, daughter Sharon Legg, sons Tim Legg (Karen) and Dr. Paul Legg (Leigh). He is also survived by grandchildren Chris Legg, Curtis Legg, Kathryn (Austin) Cromack, Casey Legg, Jacqueline (Brad) Jarrell, and great-grandchildren Tyler Legg, Addison Jarrell, Jackson Jarrell, and Grayson Jarrell. He is also survived by his brother Reverend Daniel Legg. A private graveside service was held on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Tim Legg, Dr. Paul Legg, Chris Legg, Curtis Legg, Casey Legg, and Austin Cromack.
