UPDATE: A precautionary Boil Water Advisory notice issued by Beckley Water Company this week has reportedly been lifted.
The advisory, originally issued on Monday morning, impacted certain areas of Raleigh County including streets in the Mabscott area.
Ongoing hydrant work was cited as the reason for the notice, which was lifted by Beckley Water Company on Tuesday afternoon.

MABSCOTT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A precautionary Boil Water Advisory notice has been issued for parts of the Mabscott area of Raleigh County.
According to the Beckley Water Company, as of 12:00pm on Monday, November 20, 2023, water service for streets in Mabscott will see a service interruption as utility work is being conducted on hydrants throughout the area.
Though an exact estimate for restoration has not been provided at the time of writing, a representative with Beckley Water indicates that work is anticipated to be completed in a few hours.
Customers impacted by the subsequent Boil Water Advisory should receive correspondence from Beckley Water Company regarding water quality and usability.
