FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for Fayette County announced the sentencing of a Boomer woman to prison Friday for sales of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
According to Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney, Anthony Ciliberti, Jr., Judge Thomas H. Ewing issued a sentence of no more than 5 years and no less than 1 year to Alma L. Johnson, 49, of Boomer, WV, for the felony offense of Delivery of Methamphetamine, as well as a sentence of no less than 2 years and no more than 10 years for the felony offense of Delivery of Fentanyl.
The sentences were ordered by Judge Ewing to be served consecutively, and will total to no less than 3 years and no more than 15 years for both charges.
The defendant pled guilty on May 9, 2022 to these felony offenses, and must serve 3 years in prison before becoming eligible for parole.
Reports indicate that, on March 25, 2019, an informant working with the Central Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force made a controlled methamphetamine purchase from Johnson.
Subsequent to being indicted for the preceding charge and while the indictment was pending, another confidential informant working with the Central Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force made a controlled purchase of fentanyl from Johnson. This purchase was made on September 13, 2021.
The case was prosecuted by Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney Anthony Ciliberti, Jr., and these crimes were investigated by the Central Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
