The first game of the National Football League (NFL) has officially been announced. The start of the new season will kick off with reigning champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, taking on the Dallas Cowboys.
Tom Brady and the Buccaneers will have their entire starting lineup back this season. They will be the first Super Bowl-winning team to do so since the 1977 Oakland Raiders.
The Buccaneers had a great season in 2020, ending with a record of 11-5 in the regular season, and, of course, winning Super Bowl LV.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys are looking forward to having their quarterback, Dak Prescott, back on the field. Prescott has been out since suffering an injury in the 2020 season.
The Cowboy’s new defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn, will have a major test put on him in his first game, given how stellar the Buccaneers’ offense looked last season.
The game will be held on Thursday, September 9 at 8:20 p.m. and will take place at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
In addition to the first game, the NFL has also released its full 2021 schedule. The Buccaneers vs the Cowboys is the only game scheduled for September 9; however, there will be a full day of games starting September 12.
