ALKOL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities with the West Virginia State Police arrested a man early Saturday morning after he was found inside the residence of a local family.
According to the West Virginia State Police, on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at roughly 2:00AM, Trooper R. K. Bowers responded to 6447 Julian Rd, Alkol, WV 25565.
A family is reported to have returned home to discover a man inside their residence. The homeowners, David and Kristina Miller, located the accused, Samuel Elliot Miller – no relation to the homeowners – inside their residence.
Leaving the residence, the homeowners called the police and awaited the arrival of law enforcement.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the suspect had located a rifle which had been secured inside the residence, and could be seen walking throughout the interior of the home holding the weapon.
The accused defied commands to exit the residence, initiating a standoff with authorities at which time the WVSP Special Response Team responded.
Following the arrival of the Special Response Team, the standoff continued until the accused walked outside onto the porch and put the rifle down. The accused was taken into custody without incident.
Samuel Miller faces charges of burglary, brandishing a deadly weapon, and obstructing. He was transported to the Western Regional Jail pending arraignment.
