DAVIS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Offering the reliability and power of gas engines and featuring USB chargers for mobile devices, Canaan Valley Resort has added 70 new Club Car Tempo Golf Carts to its fleet.
“These new carts are built tough and strong,” said Robert Young, Golf Course Superintendent at Canaan Valley Resort. “Guests will enjoy the power and comfort they offer while moving about the course.”
Multiple groups return annually to play the course, and in fact one group from Broadway, Virginia marked their 50th anniversary visit in early August. Randy Richards, group leader, said, “I’ve played a lot of golf at a lot of courses, and these are some really nice carts. They are golfer-friendly with the coolers on the side and cleaners attached. These carts are a very good addition.”
The course, which sits at more than 3,000 feet above sea level and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, is in great shape. Young noted, “Guests give us loads of compliments about the condition and playability of the course.”
The Geoffrey Cornish designed, and European links-inspired, 18-hole championship golf course presents the right blend of challenge, beauty, and fun. From the championship tees the course measures 6,984 yards (5,966 from the forward tees). With over 60 sand bunkers, eight holes with water hazards, meticulously groomed fairways and lush greens, the course is perfectly suited to all abilities and levels of play.
Canaan Valley Resort hosts weekly, Wednesday evening 9-hole golf scramble events from 5-8pm throughout the season which are open to the public. The course will be the site of the West Virginia Senior Series on Sept. 1. Private and group lessons are available.
