CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Monday morning announcement from the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center revealed that eight-time Grammy Award winning country singer Carrie Underwood will be coming to Charleston as part of her Denim & Rhinestones Tour.
The announcement follows an anticipatory statement from the venue on Sunday which read, “Stay tuned for a concert announcement tomorrow.”
The concert appearance, which will be just one stop on the American Idol winner’s upcoming Denim & Rhinestones Tour, could make for the perfect date-night event, as the show falls on the evening of Valentines Day, Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
“I’m thrilled to be hitting the road again with The Denim & Rhinestones Tour,” Underwood said in the tour announcement. “I’m excited to bring the new music of Denim & Rhinestones to life on tour, as well as put new spins on familiar favorites. We’ve been working hard already preparing an amazing show, and I can’t wait to see everyone on the road!”
The tour will be in support of Underwood’s upcoming ninth studio album from which its name is taken, Denim & Rhinestones, which is set to be released this Summer, on June 10, 2022 through Capitol Records Nashville.
Country singer and songwriter Jimmie Allen will be joining Underwood for the tour as a supporting act.
Allen was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2022, and one CMA and ACM awards for New Artist of the Year & New Male Artist of the Year in 2021. His CMA win for New Artist of the Year makes him only the second African American artist to have earned the award, with Darius Rucker becoming the first in 2009.
Allen’s own upcoming album, Tulip Drive, will follow Underwood’s, and is slated to hit shelves on June, 24, 2022.
