Charles Alexander Smith, age 78, of Daniels, WV passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 1, 1943 in Washington D.C, he was the son of the late Charles and Irmingard Settler Smith.
Mr. Smith worked in electronic engineering the early part of his life, and finished his working career in the hardwood flooring industry.
He attended First Baptist Church in Beaver, and enjoyed his hunting trip each year. He also had a passion for model airplanes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Bobby, and a sister Betty; by two grandsons, Randy Mullins and Matthew Smith.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife of 37 years, Alice Smith; a daughter, Sherri Owens and husband Dave of Winchester, VA; two sons, Charles “Chuck” Smith Jr. and wife Lorena of Manassas, VA, and Aaron Smith and wife Melinda of Mooresville, NC; step children, Lisa Mullins and
husband Gene of Coats,NC, Michelle Mathis of Purcellville, VA, Ed Graham of Daniels, WV, and Robert Graham of Lynchburg, VA; a sister Judy Smith and partner Lucy Sale of Herndon, VA. Special extended family, Bob and Brandi Petrella of Flat Top, WV and their children; fourteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 1 PM with Rev. Mark Hornsby and Pastor Steve Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. Friends may visit with the family from 11AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
